Refresher Training
Refresher Training for forklift especially, is by far the most demanded course that Forkpro Australia delivers. We train 1000’s of operators every year for our clients’ operations. We only deliver these courses on site so as to ensure the relevance of the training. This means the operators are trained in their environment, under their own policies and procedures and on the equipment they operate.
Australian Standard 2359.2:2013 clause 2.2.1 advises that on-the-job evaluation and ongoing refresher training should occur at regular intervals as determined by the user. Most larger businesses will opt for a time frame between 12 – 24 months. Our experience has proven that an ongoing programme has a massive impact on changing the the culture of forklift safety within a business.
Up-skill Training
Not all forklifts are alike. In many cases a licenced operator will have completed their licence training on a small counterbalance type forklift. However, there are many other types of forklifts in use within industry. Reach Forklifts are the most common type used in warehousing however they have a vastly different control system to a counterbalance forklift.
Our up-skill training allows us to safely move the operator’s onto different types of forklifts. We have very experienced trainers who are familiar with many of the common types of complex warehouse and production equipment in use today.
- Multi Directional Forklifts & Side loaders
- Turret Trucks & Articulated Turret Trucks
- Extreme lift Reach Trucks, Double Deep Reach & Order Picker
Forkpro Australia prides ourselves on being specialists within this industry with a depth of knowledge unsurpassed. Delivered on client’s site.

Battery Charging & Changing Safety
50% of all forklift sold in Australia are now electric motive power. Although this brings significant benefits there are some additional hazards presented by the process of charging and/or changing the battery of the forklift.
There are specific requirements for undertaking both of these processes. This course provides for the setting out of the proper procedures for the safe execution of these tasks – especially where battery changing has to occur. Delivered on client’s site.
Load Handling Attachments
There are some many different types of load handling attachments for forklifts these days’ no one person could be competent in the use of all. Additionally, it Is not a requirement of the licencing process to train on any load handling attachments.
Load Handling Attachments may be simple like tyne extensions (slippers), bin tippers, jibs and so on however there are many more – and all have specific requirements for their safe use. Some may even require additional licencing. This training focuses on safe and appropriate operation of the attachment plus the compliance and matching aspects of using the attachments with specific forklifts. Delivered on client’s site.

Walkie Stacker, Pallet Mover, Low Level Order Picker etc
Many of these units do not require a High Risk Work Licence to operate. However, the WHS/OHS Regulations place a heavy responsibility on employers to ensure that the users are adequately trained to operate any of this type equipment. We offer short courses that emphasise the safe operation of these type of machines.
Generally, these would result in a certificate of completion however some can be included within Nationally Recognised Training units which in this case would lead to the issue of a Statement of Attainment. Note: Some ride on walkie stackers and pallet stackers do require an LF licence. Some low level order pickers require an LO licence. Delivered on client’s site.
Forklift Work Platform
The Forklift Work Platform is actually a forklift load handling attachment. However, there are many safety and compliance requirements for the use of these devices. The application of this type of attachment is often misunderstood.
With this course we train not only the forklift operator but the platform user also. Quite often the manager or supervisor will need to join the training as well. Delivered on client’s site.
